Cursive name tracing worksheet
Type a name and get it in joined, traditional US cursive — one dark model, five lines to trace and space to write it alone. Free PDF.
Why practice a name in cursive
A child's own name is the word they write most, which makes it the most motivating first cursive word. It also mixes an uppercase letter with lowercase joins, so it covers both halves of the alphabet.
- Trace the gray name five times, saying the letters out loud.
- Copy it on the empty lines without tracing.
- Repeat for a sibling, a pet or a best friend.

Frequently asked questions
Can I make a worksheet for a full name?
Yes — up to 24 characters, including a space, so first and last names fit. Longer names get a smaller letter size so they still fit on one line.
Is the name stored anywhere?
No. The name is only used to draw the PDF you download.
