What are graffiti bubble letters?
Graffiti bubble letters are inflated, rounded letters with thick outlines and bold, overlapping shapes, a look borrowed from street-art “throw-ups.” This generator draws them for you from any text. Type a word, choose the Graffiti style, and download a PNG, a PDF for US Letter or A4 paper with 0.5-inch margins, or an SVG. The letters are outlines on white, so you can fill them with markers, add a drop shadow and a few highlights, and finish with a black outline. Everything runs in your browser and is free, with no sign-up. It is a good fit for notebook covers, posters, bedroom door signs and anything that needs more attitude than a classic bubble letter. Use it for names, nicknames and short words.

How to color graffiti letters
Graffiti style looks best with strong contrast. Use these steps with markers or paint pens:
- Fill each letter with a bright base color. Two neighboring letters should not match.
- Add a darker shade of the same color along the bottom and right edges.
- Add a small white highlight on the top left of each letter.
- Draw a thick shadow behind the whole word in a dark color.
- Go over the outline with a black marker and add small sparkles or stars around the word.
Color combos that work
| Mood | Fill colors | Shadow |
|---|---|---|
| Neon | Pink, lime, electric blue | Deep purple |
| Sunset | Orange, red, yellow | Dark brown |
| Cool | Teal, light blue, mint | Navy |
| Classic | Red, white, blue | Black |
Printing tips
- Use cardstock for markers, since thick strokes soak through thin paper.
- Print at 100% scale to keep the 0.5-inch margins.
- Use the SVG if you want to enlarge the word for a poster without blurry edges.
Tape two or three pages side by side for a longer word or a wall banner.
Make the style your own
Graffiti bubble letters are easy to personalize once the outline is printed. These small changes make a page feel hand-made:
- Add stars, hearts or lightning bolts around the word instead of plain sparkles.
- Draw a simple background, such as a brick wall, a city skyline or a row of stripes.
- Fill each letter with a pattern, such as polka dots, waves or checkerboard.
- Keep the highlights consistent. Put them in the same corner of every letter so the whole word looks lit from one side.
If you are not sure where to start, copy the color mood from a favorite sneaker, a sports team or a game. Two main colors plus black and white are easier to balance than a rainbow.
Younger kids can use the Chunky or Bubble styles from the same generator for a friendlier, simpler look. The graffiti style is best from about age eight, when kids are comfortable with detail.
Where to use them
Parents
Older kids like making their name or a nickname in graffiti style for notebooks, bedroom doors and gift tags.
Teachers
Graffiti letters work well for art class lessons on contrast, shadow and lettering, and for fun bulletin board titles.
Parties
Print a name for each guest at a teen birthday party, then let them color and sign their own.
A note on style
This tool makes clean, family-friendly lettering for coloring and decoration. It does not imitate any specific artist or brand. The letters are drawn locally in your browser, so you can try as many words as you like without an account.
Graffiti bubble letters for kids and teens
The style is popular with tweens and teens, but it works for any age when the subject is wholesome. Names, nicknames, team names and short slogans are the best fit. Free-form tagging on public property is a different thing, and these pages are meant for paper and posters.
Many teachers use a graffiti lettering page as a hook in art classes. Students color the word, add a shadow and highlights, then discuss how contrast and light make letters look three-dimensional.
For an easier version of the same exercise, try the Bubble or Chunky style with a younger group.
