How do you make a custom coloring book from photos?

Convert your photos into coloring pages, add pages from text ideas or name pages, then arrange them in the book maker. Choose a title, which is set on the cover in bubble letters, decide whether to include a “This book belongs to” page and page numbers, and pick US Letter or A4. The finished book can have from 2 to 40 pages and downloads as a single PDF. Books of up to 10 pages cost 15 credits, and books of up to 40 pages cost 40 credits. Credit packs start at 60 credits for $4.99, are a one-time payment with no subscription, and never expire. Print the PDF at home or at a copy shop and staple or bind it. Name pages and bubble letters are free, so only the AI pages and the final export use credits.

How to make a custom coloring book

Collect your pages

Convert photos to coloring pages, generate pages from ideas, or add name pages. Everything you made in the last 30 days is in My creations.

Set the cover

Type a title for the cover, which is lettered in bubble letters. Optionally add a “This book belongs to” page.

Order the pages

Drag pages into the order you want and choose US Letter or A4. Page numbers are added for you.

Export

Spend 15 credits for up to 10 pages or 40 credits for up to 40 pages, then download the PDF.

Print and bind

Print at 100% on plain paper or cardstock, then staple the left edge or take it to a copy shop for binding.

What goes into a coloring book

A good coloring book is a mix. The cover and the first page set the tone, a few photo-based pages make it personal, and a handful of simple pages keep young kids from giving up.

Book ideas that people actually use

  • Birthday party favor: ten pages of the birthday kid, their pet, their favorite animals and a name page, one book per guest.
  • Class gift: a book with each student’s name and a page from your year together.
  • Grandparent gift: family photos turned into pages, with space for kids to sign.
  • Travel book: a dozen vacation photos to color on the next car trip.
  • Pet memorial or portrait book for animal lovers.

Printing and binding tips

  • Print the cover on cardstock and the inside on regular paper.
  • Print single-sided so marker ink does not show through to the next page.
  • Staple along the left edge, or use a three-hole punch and ribbon.
  • Margins of 0.5 inches leave room for binding on both Letter and A4.
  • A 40-page book is a fine job for a copy shop if your home printer is slow.

For parents, teachers and parties

Parents

Let your child choose some pages themselves. A book of their own drawings turned into line art is a keepsake they colored over weeks.

Teachers

Create a class book with one page per student. Print copies for families at the end of the term.

Party hosts

A short 5-credit book with the guest of honor on the cover keeps kids busy and goes home as a favor.

A simple 10-page book plan

If you are making your first book, this layout is a reliable place to start:

  1. Cover with a short title in bubble letters, such as “Mia’s Coloring Book.”
  2. “This book belongs to” page.
  3. A name page with a theme your child likes.
  4. Three photo pages: your child, your pet, and a favorite place.
  5. Three idea pages from the AI generator, matched to their age group.
  6. Two simple pages at the end, so there is always an easy one to finish.

That adds up to 10 pages or fewer, which means the export costs 15 credits. Longer books, up to 40 pages, cost 40 credits.

How credits work

Making photo and idea pages with AI costs 1 credit each, and exporting the book costs 15 or 40 credits depending on length. New accounts get 3 free credits. Name pages and bubble letters are free. Credit packs are a one-time purchase, and the credits never expire.

Photos and privacy in books

Photos you convert with AI are sent once to the image model, are not stored by us, and are not used for training. Finished pages stay in My creations for 30 days, which gives you time to assemble and export the book. After you download the PDF, keep your own copy.

Please only add photos you have the right to use. If a photo shows another family’s child, ask a parent first.
