Free classroom game

Free Jeopardy game maker

Write your categories and questions, then play full screen on the classroom projector with team scores and a Daily Double. Saves in your browser, shares as a link — no login.

In short: Build a Jeopardy-style quiz board with 5 or 6 categories and 5 questions each, worth 100–500 or 200–1000 points. Play mode fills the screen for a projector or smart board: click a tile, read the question, reveal the answer and give or take points for up to 6 teams; used tiles grey out and one hidden Daily Double lets a team wager. Your game is saved in this browser automatically, the share link carries the whole game (nothing is stored on a server), and you can print question cards with an answer key.

How to make a Jeopardy game

  1. Start from a template or a blank game, give it a title and choose 5 or 6 categories.
  2. Type a question and answer for each tile. Put the easiest question at the lowest value.
  3. Pick the points (100–500 or 200–1000), the number of teams (1–6) and their names, and whether to hide a Daily Double.
  4. Press Play full screen. Everything you type saves automatically in this browser, so a refresh or a closed tab won't lose it.
  5. Copy the share link to send the game to a colleague or to open it on the classroom computer.

How to play in class

  1. Split the class into teams and project the board.
  2. A team picks a category and value; click that tile to show the question.
  3. Teams answer (by turn, or the first to raise a hand). Press space to reveal the answer, then press ✓ to award points or ✗ to take them away. Several teams can try one question.
  4. On the Daily Double only the choosing team plays: they wager up to their score (or the top board value if that is more) before seeing the question.
  5. When every tile is grey, show the final scores. The small −/+ buttons under each team fix any scoring slip.

Tips: keep answers short so they are easy to judge, mix question types (pictures you show separately, quick math, definitions) and let the team that answered correctly choose next.

Frequently asked questions

How do I make a Jeopardy game for my class for free?

Type your categories, questions and answers into the board above (or start from a template), then press Play full screen. It is free and needs no login.

Can I play it on a projector or smart board?

Yes. Play mode fills the whole screen with large text sized for a 1080p projector. Click tiles with the mouse or tap them on a touch board.

Will I lose my game if I refresh the page?

No. The game, scores and used tiles are saved in your browser as you go and come back after a refresh. Clearing browser data removes them, so copy a share link to keep a backup.

How do I share my Jeopardy game with other teachers or students?

Press Copy share link. The link contains the whole game in compressed form, so whoever opens it gets their own copy. Nothing is uploaded to a server.

How does the Daily Double work?

When it is on, one tile (never a cheapest one) hides a Daily Double. The team that picks it chooses a wager between 5 and their score — or the board's top value if their score is lower — and wins or loses that amount.

Can I print the questions?

Yes. Question cards + answer key makes a PDF with eight question cards per page to cut out, followed by an answer key listing every question and answer.

Is this the official Jeopardy! game?

No. It is an independent, free quiz board for classrooms in the familiar categories-and-points format. Jeopardy! is a trademark of Jeopardy Productions, Inc., which is not affiliated with Linecraft.
