Place value chart — millions to thousandths
Every place from millions down to thousandths, with the value of each column, a worked example and empty rows for your own numbers.
How place value works
Each place is worth ten times the place to its right. In 3,482,051.27 the 3 is worth 3,000,000, the 4 is worth 400,000 and the 7 is worth 7 hundredths (0.07).
The decimal point sits between the ones and the tenths. Places to the right of it are fractions of one: tenths, hundredths and thousandths.
