Long division worksheets
Long division problems set out in the classic bracket, with room underneath to show the work. Start without remainders, then move on to remainders and 2-digit divisors.
How to solve them
- Divide: how many times does the divisor go into the first digit (or first two digits)?
- Multiply that digit by the divisor and write the product underneath.
- Subtract, then bring down the next digit.
- Repeat until there are no digits left. Anything left over is the remainder, written as R.
Ready-to-print long division worksheets
Nine fixed sets — three per level. Each PDF has the problems followed by the answer key.
Levels
| Level | Problems | Grade |
|---|---|---|
| Easy | 2- and 3-digit ÷ 1-digit, always divides evenly | 4 |
| Medium | 3-digit ÷ 1-digit, most with remainders | 4 |
| Hard | 3-digit ÷ 2-digit (11–49), with remainders | 5 |
Remember the steps: Does McDonald's Sell Burgers?
Divide, Multiply, Subtract, Bring down — and repeat. Children who say the four steps aloud make far fewer mistakes. Check every answer by multiplying back: quotient × divisor + remainder should equal the dividend.

Frequently asked questions
How are remainders shown in the answer key?
As quotient R remainder — for example 47 R 3 means 47 with 3 left over. Easy sheets have no remainders at all.
Is the remainder always smaller than the divisor?
Yes. If the remainder is equal to or bigger than the divisor, the quotient is too small — that's a handy self-check for students.
Is there an answer key?
Yes. The PDF always ends with an answer key for the same problems, so you can print the questions for students and keep the key. Every answer is checked by automated tests.
Can I print the same worksheet again later?
Yes. Every sheet has a set number (the seed) printed in the footer and saved in the page address. Open the same link, or type the same level, count and set number, and you get exactly the same problems and answer key.
